This year, our own Palais Theatre will light up with Indian film stars to confer some of our biggest, brightest, boldest, brilliant-est films. Heartfelt performances by Janaki Easwar and Parvyn
Janaki Easwar is a 13-year-old singer and the youngest contestant at the prestigious singing competition The Voice Australia. She won everyone’s hearts through her incredible rendition of ‘Lovely’ by Billie Eilish. Born in Melbourne while having familial roots in Kerala, she is also a songwriter and is trained in Carnatic music. We cannot wait for the lovely Janaki to perform at our awards night!
Parvyn is a Punjabi-Australian singer best known for her work in band The Bombay Royale and performing globally since childhood with her father Dya Singh. Parvyn’s current solo project represents a new step in her career and is informed by, soul and jazz, her background in Sikh devotional music and her training in classical Indian music and dance. Her debut solo record ‘Sa’, released in September 2021 was heralded as an ‘multi-genre, multicultural, masterpiece’ by The Australian.
