While Jonaki, an 80-year-old woman, searches for love in a strange world of decaying memories, her lover, now old and grey, returns to a world she is leaving behind. Buried deep within her are moments that blur the line between real and surreal. 'Jonaki' is an amalgamation of the filmmaker's nightmare and what was going on in his grandmother's head when she was in a coma. It is an attempt to recreate this experience through cinematic language as it tries to bring the above elements together in a spontaneous, organic and honest mise en scene.
