Director: Balaji Maheshwar

Balaji Maheshwar is a filmmaker and visual artist from Chennai. He believes that his works are autobiographical in nature and that through his relationship with the outside world, he is able to observe and understand the inner being. Balaji's feature-length documentary "Dear Cinema," was selected for DOC EDGE Kolkata and DHAKA DOC LAB in 2023. He was selected as one of the participants from Asia for the Angkor Photo Workshop 2019 and was mentored by Antoine D'Agata and Sohrab Hura. Some of his works were exhibited in Chennai Photo Biennale 2016 and 2019 (www.balajimaheshwar.in). Apart from documentaries, he has directed television commercials and assisted Cinematographer Sathyan Sooriyan ISC.
