P. Abhijith, a native of Kozhikode, India, is the Chief Photojournalist with Madhyamam Daily and a filmmaker. Since 2007, he has been documenting and highlighting the transgender community in Kerala's social and cultural spheres through photography, visual media, and writing. Abhijith's debut documentary, Avalilekkulla Dooram, was screened at major festivals, including IDSFFK, and won several awards. His debut feature film, Antharam, won the Kerala State Film Award. Negha, a trans woman from Chennai, became the first transgender actor in the history of the Kerala State Film Awards to win the Best Actress award.
