Director: Dr. Rudrajit Roy

Dr. Rudrajit Roy is a Kolkata-based critical care specialist and independent filmmaker. His cinema is deeply rooted in human emotion, social consciousness and poetic realism. Before directing his debut feature Pinjar, he made the award-winning documentary Chasing My Dream and was associated with acclaimed short films including Man and Wife and Wavelength. His work often explores identity, freedom, loneliness, resilience and the invisible cages that shape human lives. With Pinjar, he brings together his sensitivity as a doctor and his vision as a filmmaker to tell stories of pain, dignity and liberation.
