Founder of Sikhya Entertainment - a boutique film production house - Guneet Monga has graced us with some of the most influential and celebrated films in recent Indian cinema.
With festival-trotting films such as Gangs of Wasseypur, Masaan, The Lunchbox, Monsoon Shootout, to her credit, and now an Oscar win for Period. End of Sentence, Ms Monga has challenged the norm of Indian cinema and allowed audiences to experience different realities. She has also become one of the first Indian producers to join the Producer branch of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science.
After completing her mass communications degree, Ms Monga entered the industry in 2006 as a production assistant working on the cricket orientated film, Say Salam India (2007) and has continued to stay true to her belief in good content by producing thought provoking films and changing the face of independent cinema.
Ms Monga has made the nation proud by becoming one of the fifty artists from the entertainment industry around the world to have been featured in Variety's International Women's Impact Report 2018.
