Synopsis |
A privileged schoolteacher, Fatima, living the cosmopolitan high life in Karachi, is devastated when her nanny, Nusrat, inexplicably disappears. Though her friends and family beg her not to disturb the status quo, she travels to Nusrat’s feudal village to investigate but cultures soon clash over issues of class separation, feudalism, poverty, individual empowerment, and women’s rights.
