Film studies professor Avikunthak has made experimental films for 20 years now and his latest is the first feature-length fiction film from India to be selected for the Berlinale’s experimental Forum Extended section. A hypnotic “metaphysical contemplation”, it shows gods and goddesses manifest in today’s chaotic world, providing a political and religious commentary on the state of perpetual state of emergency we live in today.
