Masterclasses and Q & A's
IFFM 2015 played host to a number of Q&As and masterclass sessions: allowing the audience a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the festival. Including inspiring director and producer Q&As, and a masterclass with the talented and charismatic auteur Nagesh Kukunoor, the sessions permitted a sharing of wisdom, anecdotes and insight into the film industry.
The gorgeous Sonam Kapoor delighted audiences with a Q&A following the screening of fan favourite, Khoobsurat. Hugs, selfies and secrets were shared!
The legendary Anil Kapoor joined a star-stuck audience for a Q&A prior to the screening of his new film, Dil Dhadakne Do; and the delighted crowd picked the brain of the Bollywood great.
Prolific Australian auteur Paul Cox captivated audiences with tales of his early visits to India, and Bengali filmmaker Srijit Mukherjiscreened his National award-winning film Chotushkone (whose twist left everybody stunned!)
Director Vinnil Markan treated an enthusiastic cinema to the world premiere of Zorawar, which concluded to a rousing standing ovation!Dhanak delighted and enthralled a packed house at Hoyts Melbourne Central, and director Nagesh Kukunoor and producer Elahe Hiptoola fielded questions from an amazed audience.
Edgy Kannada film, Naanu Avanalla...Avalu (I Am Not He...She), explored the lives of the transgender within India, and director BS Lingadevaru explained the challenges of creating a film on such a taboo topic. Australian filmmaker Ana Tiwary screened her pertinent documentary Sunshine & Shade, and discussed the effect of racism upon students in our current climate.
Kiku Sharda shared insight into the Indian comedic industry, and Nagesh Kukunoor captivated, thrilled and inspired an immersed audience at his filmmaking masterclass: sharing anecdotes, insight into his filmmaking processes, and insider industry information.
