Indian Film Festival Melbourne 2016

Welcome to the 2016 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne – a celebration of Indian cinema and culture, both on and off the screen.

Now in its fifth year, this event is a unique celebration of one of the world’s most prolific and successful film industries.

This year’s Festival focuses on the status of women, both on-screen and in the community. With an emphasis on empowerment, it is a celebration of the courageous and inspirational women who champion equality.

As well as showcasing the best films from India and the subcontinent, this year’s program also includes panel discussions and community activities. It’s a chance for every Victorian to celebrate and explore the many facets of Indian culture and cinema.

Over the last five years, IFFM has championed cross-cultural exchange and dialogue. This year, the Festival again demonstrates how powerful the arts can be in bringing people together.
