Fresh film ideas are always welcome in a city as diverse and creative as Melbourne. The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne celebrates the best of cinema in all its forms and the City of Melbourne is proud to be a longstanding supporter.

Australia’s growing relationship with India is expressed in many cultural events that bring us together, from community gatherings to arts events. Against this backdrop, the festival theme of identity perfectly captures the mood of the moment.

The organisers are to be congratulated for introducing “My Melbourne”, which seeks out stories from underrepresented communities. We look forward to welcoming new and regular audiences to the city.
