Suresh Triveni is a celebrated Indian director and writer. His movies Jalsa (2022), Tumhaari Sulu (2017) and Mard ko Dard Nahin Hota (2018) have been critically acclaimed by audiences in India.

His recent release Jalsa on Amazon Prime Video has received loads of positive reviews, lauding the film's complex characters, storyline and neurodivergent representation. Teaming up with ace actresses Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah, the thriller explored themes like motherhood, choosing between doing the right thing and protecting one's family and career. His debut film Tumhaari Sulu also starred powerhouse Vidya Balan in a lead role, and it explored the story of a housewife who gives relationship advice on a late-night radio show.

Suresh Triveni is an exciting director and one to be watched. His complex storytelling, intense characters and the ability to bring out raw, authentic performances from his actors are beyond impressive and we are keen to welcome him to our 2022 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne!
