Sona Mohapatra is a singer, composer and lyricist.She rose to prominence after her remarkable performances as lead singer and performer in Satyamev Jayate. Her song Mujhe Kya Bechega Rupaiya which was based on celebrating women's freedom was a huge success. Over the years she has given the Indian film industry many hits like Ambarsariya, Jiya Laage Na, Naina, and many more. Sona, a virtuoso live performer, is a path-breaker for simply being her unapologetic self. She is outspoken and relentless against the misogyny in the Indian music industry, which is the subject of the biographical documentary Shut Up Sona which will be proudly screened at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2022. She will also judge the IFFM Dance Competition!
