My Melbourne
Race | Gender | Disability | Sexuality
The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne has teamed up with four iconic Indian filmmakers, Rima Das, Imtiaz Ali, Kabir Khan and Onir, to create four short films on our core values of Diversity and Inclusivity. We are delighted and thrilled to have secured four of India’s most diverse voices of independent cinema for this project.
Under the motto of ”a film with you, about you and for you”, we are aiming to create a series of truly authentic short films made by our community.
In a series of extensive filmmaking workshops, from the writing stage to the shoot, the directors will mentor our participants and finally direct the short films in-person in Melbourne.
Under the motto of ”a film with you, about you and for you”, we are aiming to create a series of truly authentic short films made by our community.
Each short film will centre around one of these four themes: Sexuality, Gender, Disability and Race. The shorts will be compiled into one film titled My Melbourne which will premiere at IFFM 2021 before travelling on the international film circuit.
Under the motto of ”a film with you, about you and for you”, we are aiming to create a series of truly authentic short films made by our community.
We have now reached our application deadline and are no longer accepting expressions of interest.
Thank you for the overwhelming response!
