Devi Dang is a young Indian writer-director-lyricist based in Mumbai committed to exploring gender, mental health & human relationships. Driven by this passion for challenging patriarchal social norms, she crafted her debut feature script "Deeva" which earned acclaim at many international screenplay festivals & contests, including Shore Scripts, The Southern California Screenplay Competition, Lift-Off Paris & Manchester, The Golden Script Competition, Beverly Hills & Female Eye. She went on to direct the feature, stepping into her voice as a filmmaker after 10+ years of theatre training, an education in literature & culture studies, as well as a certificate from Sundance Institute's "Directing: Visual Storytelling" Course. Beyond filmmaking, Devi served as the Vice-President of Girl Up Bombay, the Mumbai-based chapter of the United Nations Foundation's Girl Up Initiative, and was honoured as a speaker at UNF's Girl Up Global Leadership Summit.
