Victoria is proud to be home to one of the largest and most vibrant Indian communities in Australia, making it the perfect setting for the southern hemisphere’s largest annual celebration of Indian cinema.
Now in its 16th year, the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) once again delivers a rich and diverse program, showcasing the very best of contemporary Indian filmmaking to local audiences.
From powerful dramas to bold new voices, IFFM continues to illuminate our cinema screens with stories that entertain, challenge, and inspire.
Beyond the screen, IFFM brings a unique energy to Melbourne through a series of much-loved events—including the annual flag-raising ceremony, the spectacular dance competition, and the prestigious IFFM Awards Night, which welcomes stars from across the Indian and Australian film industries.
The Victorian Government is proud to support IFFM, including additional funding in the 2025/26 budget to back the festival over the next two years. IFFM helps reinforce Victoria’s position as a global screen destination and adds another standout event to our winter cultural calendar.
Thank you to the IFFM team for curating another exceptional program. We invite you to enjoy the films, the festivities, and the celebration of cinema that brings us all together.
The Hon. Colin Brooks MP
Minister for Creative Industries
