Professor Manjula Datta O'Connor

Professor Manjula Datta O'Connor is an award-winning psychiatrist with expertise in migrant women's mental health, family violence, and complex trauma.

Manjula is Co- Founding Director of the NGO, the AustralAsian Centre For Human Rights and Health (ACHRH). She successfully led the dowry abuse campaign in Australia leading to law change in Victoria and National Senate Hearing in 2017.

Manjula is an invited expert on committees and informs public debate around the safety of migrant women.

She is the author of the highly acclaimed book Daughters of Durga.

Finding Affection is a short film produced by Some Kind Of Squirrel Productions, Film Director award winning Emma Macey Storch. Finding Affection is based on Sneh Community Participatory Theatre, a vision of Manjula, an innovative project of ACHRH, funded by the Victorian Government, created in partnership with the Indian and the broader South Asian community, volunteers and Theatre Director Namrata Sharma.
